The San Francisco Examiner Says “NO” on Prop. H
Oct/09/08

Today, the San Francisco Examiner released its endorsements for the November 4th election, and has joined other newspapers in opposing Proposition H. In its recommendation the Examiner said the measure “Puts taxpayers on the hook for billions of dollars to operate (the) power system.”

The Examiner joins Asian Week and a broad coalition of labor unions, civic organizations, police, sheriff deputies and firefighters, and leaders like Senator Dianne Feinstein and Mayor Gavin Newsom in opposing the multi-billion power grab by the Board of Supervisors.

Also this week, the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR) released its independent analysis of Prop. H and recommended a no vote, after taking a careful look at the measure’s language.
